Preparation nightmare

2 more days to my Vietnam trip and my group has yet to successfully booked any hotel rooms. We've sent e-mails to our targeted hotel but no reply. We were unable to book online. To add to that, we were also unable to call any hotels in Vietnam even though Telekom said we dialled the international number correctly. We also have no idea how or what we are gonna do there, besides shopping at the infamous Ben Thanh Market. Everything is wait and see. Me being the kiasu and kiasi one, did read up about HCMC in the internet, just so I can familiariaze myself with some landmarks. I just hope that wherever we ended up sleeping, there is hair dryer facility. That is a MUST! Of course, if we ended up sleeping on the street, then no hair dryer la....sei lor.

The shopping for everything mini is accomplished. Also, managed to get a white Crocodile sandal for casual walking (not those Crocs ya...those are damn ugly). Mine is real Crocodile....ahaks! The only thing left to do now (besides the stewpit hotel issue) is to get some Vietnamese Dong.

Bumped into Yoga Master 2 days ago and he said my sunglass looked like in Matrix. I had no idea what that meant. I'm still scratching my head to this day. Excusable because I had never watched any of the Matrix movies. Anyway......

Today is Wednesday. Body Combat! I had a weird dream 2 nites ago in which Combat Master made a special appearance. The scene was like this...I was at the Juice Bar filling up my water bottle and Combat Master came up next to me. I said hi. She was in some sort of bad mood and being all grumpy. And just like that, I kicked her out of my dream woke up. Hmm...boring. Tonite if got chance, maybe I'll tell her this story...hahaha.

I have another "mission" which I hope to accomplish tomorrow at the gym involving somebody. Fingers crossed....tolong la..

Thank God it's nearly weekend

Sometimes I can be mean. Sometimes I can be selfish. Who cares! ahaks. I was approached by an African gal (I assume is from Africa) during Body Pump yesterday to switch place with her cos she wanted to stand at the back of the studio. I refused. I stood firm. All done with politeness, of course. Mind you, regulars usually have their usual spots in the studio. Yanti and Adrienne next to me. The IOI Gal on the right corner. The Anthony fler in the left front side. The Social Newbie Girl in front of the stage. Malay fler in front of me (although he was absent yesterday). It's like we have marked our territories with our sweats. All hell will break loose if someone were to take over our spots.

Body Pump seemed to be a breeze yesterday....well...for the most part. Did struggle a little during Back track. Felt that the bar was a little heavier than usual. It didn't help that there were 2 sets of 6 continuous clean & presses and TOO many deadrows. I really should get myself a pair of lifting gloves. Maybe it can give me that extra boost, no? BTW, I said this before and I'll say it again. It's really alarming that so many members (who are younger than me) cannot bend their knees during lunges. Can you??

Weekend is coming....woot! Have an appt with a doctor in the morning...then I'm off to another session of Body Pump, followed by Body Combat with the Combat Master. Originally had planned for a facial in the evening but I think I'll save that for next month. Need to do some toiletries shopping for my upcoming Vietnam trip. Get everything mini to save space. Then I'll have lots of bag space for the forseeable shopping spree. Woot!

Crappy Monday updates

Sometimes pain seems to creep out from nowhere. This morning, suddenly I'm feeling a slight ache in my right shoulder/arm area. Somehow, mysterious aches seem to appear on Mondays. It's always Mondays.

I received an email from an old school friend recently. Old as in former/ex ..not as in old old..you know what I mean...ahaks. Always good to hear from friends I have not seen in years. Always good to hear news about other friends. Wished I have my old school album by my side. I wonder if my other ex school friends still remember me??

Gym life is its good old self. So far, been religiously attending my regular classes. I've decided to rename those instructors that I've been nicknaming. So, here goes...

FPI (Fav Pump Instructor) - now known as Iron Lady
FCI (Fav Combat Instructor) - now known as Combat Master
FJI (Fav Jam Instructor) -now known as Jam Diva

Usual weekend yumcha with friends is back although I'm very curious to see if I will ever get to that one on one session. Could not make it to Cindy's 2-in-1 Birthday Bash last Saturday (felt very guilty) but I hope to catch up with her soon.

I don't want to work late today. I'm sick of working late nites. Miserable meal allowance for all those hours put in. So....stop blogging and get back to work so I don't have to stay back today. :-)

Observing people can be fun

I couldn't help but smile a lot yesterday at the gym. Firstly, saw one guy wore his pants inside out during Combat. I was curious how come his pants' label was outside, very obvious...then I realised it was actually inside out. Poor fella, he didn't know it. I wonder how I would have reacted if it had been me. Where to hide water face?

Secondly, I nearly slipped when doing Ginga (a form of Capoeira...Brazilian martial art) in Combat. Floor was slippery with drops of human sweats. Luckily didn't fell down, otherwise where to hide water face?

Thirdly, as I was on my way out from the gym (5 mins after class ended), I saw one Combat diehard regular coming back with a bag full of fish satays and keropoks. Wow! Eating junk food in the gym?For real? Isn't the gym a place where people are very conscious of their food intake? Outside gym, different story la...can whack anything til kingdom comes. One time, I saw 2 gym goers eating Big Macs in the locker room....ahaks....mind you, they were certainly not thin.

This morning, saw something very cute. I was in Maybank queueing at the CDM and saw a little boy around 8-9yrs old with a stack of cheques. Prolly sent by his mummy who prolly couldn't find parking. This little fella knew how to use the Cheque Deposit machine and was looking very pro at using it too. He was even prancing around while waiting for each receipt to come out. Smart kid. At that age, I only knew how to eat, sleep and watch TV.

Still jam-ing in my head

I'm amazed how a person can be called a leader when a person has absolutely zero (that's 0, kosong) leadership skills, doesn't communicate with team members (either out of no interest or couldn't be bothered), very afraid (or I should say STINGY) to impart/share information and never ever hold a single meeting with team members. What kind of a leader is this? Wait a minute.....come to think of it, a person CAN INDEED be promoted...as long as one knows how to kiss ass and most importantly, LOOK busy in front of da boss. That is the key. Shame, shame! When a leader alienates the team and looks down on the team, team members banyak kutuk the leader and for sure, give NO respect in return. Hmm.....I wouldn't want to be in this person's shoe. Always kena kutuk from behind.

Rants aside, I had a blardy super duper fantastic time at the gym yesterday. First, went for Body Pump (still on new release, luckily). Ok la..nothing fantastic about this class. Body Pump is always about strength and the proper techniques. Since I had been hiatus for 2 weeks, I went light all the way. Some blurness and arm fatigue were my only highlight in this class.

It was the class after that which rocks. Body Jam 45! I had a blardy fun time on Sunday and when Kelly asked if I wanted to continue on to Jam after the Pump class last nite, I agreed immediately. No second thoughts. Got jam kaki, more fun. Instructor Juwita was on stage with 2 trainees and boy, do they rock! Syiok to the end. It was like attending a party. Would have been nicer if she had dimmed the lights a little. I was a little irked when one member squeezed herself near me when there were plenty of space elsewhere. Friend, next time, if you come in late, you find your own space la. You stand so close to me, I pusing pusing, sure will bang into you.

You know what, I think maybe on Thursday....maybe...I may trade in Yoga for Body Jam....ahaks. Guess I can't get enough of this new release.

All good things come to an end...

After a much needed holiday, I'm flying back this evening. Can't say it's a well rested holiday though. Had trouble sleeping the whole week. Every single nite. Very baffled by this. Anyway, I ate well, although I must say this time, surprisingly enough, I did not eat a single bowl of Sarawak laksa. Gained 1kg, which is good considering that I lost 2kg since the last the last time I weighed myself. Got some mixed reaction when I came home. Mom said I look thinner, cousin said I look fatter...another cousin said I look thin. Hmmm.....so which is which??

The past few days were spent playing Word Challenge in Facebook. Damn, so addictive.
In fact, I am still playing Word Challenge now when I should be packing. Geezzz..

Kinda miss gym but yet, not really itching to return to gym. Told myself to do some daily push ups (on my toes) to compensate for 2 weeks of non gym-ing....but that was just wishful thinking.

Can't seem to get that someone out of my mind, no matter how hard I tried. Sometimes I feel so ridiculous. Sigh....

I should get back to packing....but before that, maybe just a couple rounds of Word Challenge...ahaks.
