Learn some email & text etiquette

I seriously don't understand why some people still insist on uppercase in sms or emails. Seriously???? That's equivalent to shouting, dorks.

Then there are some that like to use exclamation mark even in simple replies such as Thank You or OK. Seriously??? That's like telling people you are saying thank you for the sake of saying those words.

Thank You is a word used for showing gratitude. It doesn't have to be accompanied by an exclamation mark. Surely you don't verbally thank someone with a sarcastic tone. That is exactly how an exclamation mark sounds like in emails, you dork stupid people. That is just pure rudeness.

For God's sake, learn some proper manners when texting or sending emails.

Loyal customer? What's that?

It seems that in today's world, being a loyal customer means nothing. My experience today definitely confirmed it.  3 weeks ago I had sent some pants to a tailor shop to have the spoiled zips fixed.  The lady owner was someone that I had gone to to do threading monthly for the past 2 years (she does that as a side business).  We usually had some small chats, so I would say I am someone that she can recall.  I had initially thought of sending my clothes to a different shop but thought that since I knew this lady and the shop is nearer, it makes sense to send it here.

When I went to collect my clothes today, no one in the shop could remember my items.  To be honest, I myself couldn't remember either what clothing stuff I had sent it, with the exception of a sports bra which needed the elastic band replaced.  So, I brought that up, thinking that surely they can easily recall handling a sports bra.  I mean, c'mon on, what are the odds of others sending in sports bra for fixing in the past 1 month rite?  Surely this would have jolted their memories.

After some good minutes trying to explain, I still drew blank faces from the lady owner and her assistant. I was getting slightly pissed.  The lady owner did not offer to search for my items, prefering to sit, and she had this look on her face, as if to say "I don't know if we can even find your stuff".

Finally the assistant was able to retrieve the plastic bag which had my clothes, and trust me, it was a different plastic bag from the one I had initially used, which means they had opened the bag and took out my clothes.  This means they knew that the clothes needed to be fixed. However, as the assistant took out the clothes, it was clear that nothing was done.  I was pissed but tried to keep my cool.  I coolly reminded them that I had sent those in 3 weeks ago.  The assistant's response? "We forgot".  Hey, you fool, that is not an exceptable explanation ok!. The lady owner had that same look as earlier, which pissed me off even more.  There was no apology from either one of them.

I said never mind, give me my stuff back.  Seeing my angered looks, the assistant gave me the "what's the big deal" look, then said they will fix the clothes by Monday. When I declined, he had the audacity to say "why? angry issit?".  Needless to say, at that point, I was boiling in anger.  I snatched my stuff from his hand and stormed out of the store. Still no apology!

Trust me, I will never return.  Is this how you treat a regular customer to your shop, idiots!

I didn't wanna do this again but I need an outlet to vent...

So, the most inefficient co-worker that I have ever encountered will be leaving today (thank god!) but not surprisingly she is leaving all her mess and shit for me to clean up.  Work that was assigned to her 2 weeks ago did not get done (again, I guess this shouldn't come as a surprise considering that she is a LAZY INEFFICIENT cow!).

As a result, now I have to scramble to get that work done (again, I repeat, cleaning up the idiot's shit) due to its dateline submission, and not only that, there are other parties involved (eg. bank) to get some documents drawn up and with just 2 days to go, I really don't know how well the bank is willing to liaise with us, if at all.

If it is up to me, I would have given this idiot a 10x slap across the face before she stepped out of this office for the final time. I have harbour hatred for some people across my lifetime but never before have I hated somebody this much.

My personal review of a netbook

What do I think of a Netbook?  It's great if you are using it mainly for browsing the Web, accessing emails, participating in forums, blogging or if you are someone who are constantly on the move and you need to accomplish tasks on the run, yeah...netbook is great becos it is extremely lightweight and can fit into a handbag easily. However, for me.....

3 days into using this piece of crap machine, I feel like I want to poke my eyes out. Steams are coming out of my ears each time I attempt to do work with it.

The display is small. I have to keep scrolling down just to read one page of document.
It is fucking slow...but then again, what can one expect from a machine that uses Atom processor.
It does not come with an optical drive.
The battery is great when it's new but we'll see how it performs 6 mths down the line.
The pointing device ia fuckingly annoying.  Sometimes I try to place the cursor on the screen, the page will just runs up or down automatically.  Damn annoying especially when one is rushing to get work done.
Sometimes need to click more than twice to open up a file.
Limited RAM and HDD size.
Forget about watching videos online.  A snail can crawl to China and back and I still don't get to watch the video.

In short, a Netbook is not for business use.  Great for a directors, maybe, cos let's face it, they delegate more than they actually do work.  Not so great for the Executives who need to do work on a computer for hours.  If you are someone who is easily stressed, for goodness sake, never ever get a netbook...not  unless you want your blood pressure to go thru the roof.

I don't understand how my moron team leader can get us a netbook considering that we deal with proposals on a frequent basis and a CD/DVD drive is very much an important necessity than a luxury.  This is what I call...making decision without utilising the brain. Personally, this is an insult.

How's this for absurdity?

  • Spending 4x the allocated budget for office renovation.
  • Approving bringing an entourage of customers to neighbouring country to play golf. (no golf course in our own country? Our golf course not good enough?)
  • Approving of overseas "incentive" trip before project payment is received nor project even completed yet.
  • Stealing Taking company advance worth thousands of dollars without repaying.
  • Stealing Using company cash to give as sponsored gift and undertable $ to so-called potential customers (or does it end up in own pocket?).
  • Hiring a secretary under company payroll who is not even doing company work.
  • and the list goes on and on.........
All these done while the company is undergoing paycut.

I have to get this off my chest.

Since when is it alright to let others carry your burden for you?
Since when is it alright to let go of your responsibility and assume others will shoulder that responsibility for you?
Since when is it alright to get somebody to do the work for you while you sit back and wait for the result?
Since when is it alright to assume somebody is always on standby and free to do what you want them to do?
Since when is it alright to assume that somebody will bail you out when you yourself are not even trying hard to help yourself?
Since when is it alright to keep silence while others have to pick up the slack for you?
Since when is it alright to let others be punished because they have put their trusts on your words?
Since when is it alright to pretend everything is ok while the other person is silently suffering because of your action?
Since when is it alright to conveniently forget about your responsibility?

We all have our own responsibilities, we all have financial difficulties to a certain degree, we all have our own commitments regardless whether single or married, we all have our own sets of problems, we have our own stress, etc etc. Just because we don't talk about that openly does not mean that our lives are smooth sailing.  That does not give you the right to shove aside your responsibility and expect someone else to pick it up for you.  We all have enough stress of our own in our lives everyday....we don't need to be burdened by your stress too.  You need to understand that person's predicament before you dish out any selfish remarks or actions.

It is especially difficult when a family member, a spouse or a close friend is being put into such predicament by your irresponsible attitude. When is it enough?  Does somebody need to cut off relationship or distanced themselves away from you in order for you to realise that your actions are not desirable?

It is one thing to have people trust you enough to want to help you but when you FAIL to return that trust or when you abuse that trust, it is only a matter of time when that trust will forever be lost. Once you lost that trust, people will never look at you the same way, even if they can forgive you at some point in their lives.

What now?

This is getting ridiculous. News that bring disatisfaction. News that demotivates me. I try not to let these get into my head but it is so hard to ignore them.

How much more can I take mentally? How much longer before I can exit? How much further do I have to walk before I see the light at the end of the tunnel?

Now that I no longer have yoga to turn to seek calmness, where else do I turn to then?

When singing is not singing

When one is sleep deprived, one easily gets angry and feels irritated but worse still, one can easily gets a headache. I walked out of Giant Hypermarket yesterday with a headache, thanks in large part to the karaoke promoters who thought they could sell the products better by happily karaoke-ing their lungs out. No one could escape the out of tunes, out of notes screaming singing of the duo, who obviously gave themselves too much credit. I told myself to quickly grab the stuff I needed and get the hell out. I don't know what gives but I just couldn't find lemons anywhere. Not in Giant, not in Tesco.....just cannot find. Fresh lemons, bottled lemon juice....just cannot find. WTF!

At the checkout counter, I was approached by a credit card promoter who obviously was immune to the word NO. I can fully understand that he was just doing his job but when I replied NO with a thank you, not once, not twice, but THREE times, I really meant NO! That's your cue to get the hell out of my face, you silly man. Don't make me use the F word. Needless to say, my drive back home was full of silent cursings, mostly targeted at the traffic.

This morning I find myself having a headache still. Unbelievable.

I'm being mean today and I don't care

I guess it is strange when I consider someone I don't even know as my public enemy #1. I don't care though. I have my reasons. I was in Body Combat class this afternoon and the crowd was a little lesser than the usual Saturday crowd. Prolly due to Master Combat being absent. PLENTY of spaces in the studio. I repeat, PLENTY. I decided to stick to my comfort zone...ie. at the back of the studio.

Midway thru the start of the class, I realised someone standing behind me. Remember...I was already at the back of the studio..so the gap between me and that other person was real close. Oh no, not another joker, I thought. I turned and there she was...my arch rival...public enemy #1. Just when I thought I had seen the last of her, she reappeared!. I decided to stand pat even though I could move forward a little. Hell, I wasn't the one late to the class ok! I wasn't the one who was so blind to notice other available spaces. I stood firm, not giving out any of my space. I was very glad none of the members near me gave way either. Thank you ladies. Ya ya...I know I talked about tolerance earlier but today I didn't care. I wasn't gonna be nice today.

In Track 6, my enemy realised that there was no way she could do back kick in the space that she was in and moved to the empty space in front of me. Where was her brain earlier? After going thru 5 tracks, equivalent to approx 25-30 minutes of class, now onlyshe came to her senses?? Had she had remained at the back, I would have kicked her all over...with full force and without any guilt. So there!

Hiak!

Waiting for good things to happen

I miss gym more than I want to admit. I will have to get use to less gym-ing for the next quarter as the schedule for all gym classes have been changed to accomodate year end low attendance. Conflict of timing and cancellation of certain classes means I will be dropping a few regular favorite classes. Sucks. Hopefully the schedule for next year will be more favorable and some of my favorite instructors will return then. Hopefully la...

I hate how the local political scene is being played rite now and god knows how this will impact our economy next year and years to come. It interferes with my plans for the future.

Something fishy is going on with my apt's JMC (Joint Management Committee) and some of the owners are secretly meeting to strategise fighting back during this Saturday's EGM (Extraordinary General Meeting). Being a former RA (Resident Assoc.) committee, I have also been dragged asked to show support. There has also been requests on returning to the committee (and possibly into the new JMC) if we succeeded in our quest. I will support as much as I can but I seriously do not wish to return as a committee member. However, I fear I may have no way out. Therefore, I am very angry at the current materialistic JMC & RA committee for not upholding their honesty in running the apt, thus creating this whole mess. On the flip side, I have now read the new "Law of Malaysia. Act 663. Building and Common Property (Maintenance and Management) ACT 2007." Took me a while to digest the contents.

I still don't like nor trust the person who owed me money even though this person finally told me I will be paid end of the month. Why wait so long to pay? In the meanwhile, the cc company continuously charge me interest rate. Can't blame them, so blame the fler, who in the name of work, I had trustfully allowed the transaction to be charged using my card. KNN!

On a happier note, my wish for one-on-one yumcha with a somebody finally materialised last week. So many opportunities wasted in the past and I wasn't about to let it happen again this time. I have to try, at the very least. Was very surprised that the conversations were effortless. Secretly I wish for more but anyhow, I value the friendship.

So, will anything good happen out of all these?

Still jam-ing in my head

I'm amazed how a person can be called a leader when a person has absolutely zero (that's 0, kosong) leadership skills, doesn't communicate with team members (either out of no interest or couldn't be bothered), very afraid (or I should say STINGY) to impart/share information and never ever hold a single meeting with team members. What kind of a leader is this? Wait a minute.....come to think of it, a person CAN INDEED be promoted...as long as one knows how to kiss ass and most importantly, LOOK busy in front of da boss. That is the key. Shame, shame! When a leader alienates the team and looks down on the team, team members banyak kutuk the leader and for sure, give NO respect in return. Hmm.....I wouldn't want to be in this person's shoe. Always kena kutuk from behind.

Rants aside, I had a blardy super duper fantastic time at the gym yesterday. First, went for Body Pump (still on new release, luckily). Ok la..nothing fantastic about this class. Body Pump is always about strength and the proper techniques. Since I had been hiatus for 2 weeks, I went light all the way. Some blurness and arm fatigue were my only highlight in this class.

It was the class after that which rocks. Body Jam 45! I had a blardy fun time on Sunday and when Kelly asked if I wanted to continue on to Jam after the Pump class last nite, I agreed immediately. No second thoughts. Got jam kaki, more fun. Instructor Juwita was on stage with 2 trainees and boy, do they rock! Syiok to the end. It was like attending a party. Would have been nicer if she had dimmed the lights a little. I was a little irked when one member squeezed herself near me when there were plenty of space elsewhere. Friend, next time, if you come in late, you find your own space la. You stand so close to me, I pusing pusing, sure will bang into you.

You know what, I think maybe on Thursday....maybe...I may trade in Yoga for Body Jam....ahaks. Guess I can't get enough of this new release.

What goes around will comes around eventually

I am a believer of karma. I always have. I believe if you do wrong to others, one day you will be punished. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow. Some day. It may not happen to you...but it may happen to your spouse, parents, kids, grandkids, etc...but it will happen. So, to people who do wrong now, don't think that you can get away with your actions. Life is good to you today but don't be so sure life will treat you the same tomorrow. I may not be very religious but I greatly believe God is fair, regardless of what God you worships.

If you do good to others, one day you will be rewarded. Or perhaps, not you. Maybe your spouse or kids or grandkids will benefit from your good deeds.

Someone banged into my car 2 days ago, a young couple. I wanted to lodge a police report but they wanted to settle outside. Her uncle make arrangement to meet me today but changed his mind later about settling my car repair. In fact, he was rude and now refused to meet. He has the traits of a conman. Told me earlier he was staying in PJ but today said he's staying in Kepong. Said he cannot make the 10am appt because he was in Cheras but when I called, he sounded like he was still in bed. So, what can I do? I can't do nothing. I can't lodge a police report because it's past the 24 hours limit. If I lodge a report now, I have to pay a RM1k court fine, that's what the traffic policeman told me. So, yes, the culprits got away with it.

To the owner and so-called 'uncle' of PEX 5716, you can smile and be happy that you knocked into somebody and got away with it. Today is your day. There's no doubt about it...but don't be so sure life will be a happy and smooth one for you sometime down the road. You know why?

Because I believe in karma!

I'm sorry...Rants ahead

Please excuse me while I do a bit of rantings....

I hate stupid people. I hate people who have no common sense. If I'm one of these people, then technically speaking, I should hate myself too.

I hate it when people do not know how to lower the volume when they are watching videos on YouTube or listening to MP3 songs in the office. I hate it when people sing loudly in the office. This is not a karaoke centre, ok!

I hate it when office mails are down so frequently.

I hate it when people take credit for something that others work on. Kanasai!

I hate it when my notebook is running at a snail's pace. I hate it when my notebook hangs.

I hate it when drivers on the road step on the brake when there are no cars in front of them.

I hate it when some people behave like a DIVA at work.

I hate it when gym members hog the bench at the women locker room and has no eyes to see that others may need to use the bench. Stupid!

Oh, I sent an email today to a group of technical people from a supplier company asking them to fill in some information that is required for a tender submission. One of them replied, saying that he will refer me to their Bid Manager to assist me. WTF! Didn't you even open the attachment that I sent? Why do you need to refer me to your BM when all I'm asking are info such as your IC number, your date of employment and the year of the projects that you worked on. Information that YOU should know, idiot! Stupid people!

Note to self: Remember to keep some chocolates in the office and in my gym bag, for days when people with no common sense get on my nerves. Chocolate, which releases serotonin, can calm a person's mood...in case you didn't know that.

If I could turn back time..

The mood in the office seems kinda sombre this morning. Must be spilled over from last Friday. A lot of tensions were on then...not only me but almost the entire office. All caused by a few useless self-centered high and mighty bastards individuals.

The weekend was exactly what I needed to elevate my mood. There's nothing more effective than pumping some adrenaline into the body at the gym. Combat was pretty easy and to compensate for this, I think a lot of members put in 200% effort. Bravo! The conditioning track was a killer though. On my part, all I had to do to get me going was lining up the faces of those bastards in front of me when I did the punches, hooks, uppercuts, kicks. That felt good, really good. Wish I can do this on a daily basis. Looking forward to Wednesday.

Decided to skip Jam on Sunday since FJI was once again M.I.A. Bummer! Went for 2 hours of yumcha with Adrienne and Mr. Yoga instead. Got a sms from that somebody that afternoon. Can't say that I was surprise. Totally ignored it. I'm at peace with myself now.

The new office is like a blardy sauna, despite having 3 split airconds on. I think I should get my own standing fan. Can also use that to partially block the shelf that is having its sharp angle directed at me. Maybe that's why mood not so good in office hor.....feng shui no good. Sigh...

I wish it's the weekend all over again. I wish it's Friday today. For the first time in many years I wish for weekends to come quickly. That can only mean one thing.....

All it takes is one blardy cow to spoil my day...

Managed to make a dash to Body Pump yesterday. These days, I am making myself do warm ups on the elliptical machine before classes. It's one way to kill time too.

Went yoga after Pump. Mr.Yoga had to make several corrections on my postures...4 to be exact. At this stage of my practice, I should have been able to do the asanas that we did last nite correctly. Oh well...

Went for Subway with Adrienne after gym. Ya....again. This time, went for Steak & Cheese. I think I have fulfilled my quota at this outlet for this month. I swear one of the workers there recognise me the moment I approached the counter. Paiseh...

I was pissed this morning at work. Hate it when somebody removed something from my cubicle and put it at his place, as if it was rightfully his. Somemore can claim it's his. Bastard! IF he does this again, he's gonna get it from me. He is one of 2 persons who have not lifted a finger when everyone else were helping out in the office relocation. I tolerated him long enuff. This is someone who lied to me several times in the past to get out of his work responsibilities. Blardy fcuking useless s.o.b.! Next time when I do Combat, I'm gonna imagine his face in front of me. Punch him kaw kaw. Blardy idiot! Dude...you can expect no cooperation from me in the future.

Ok, enuff of rants. Breath in.....breath out....

Looking forward to the weekend. Much needed one too.

Mini ranting ahead...

Note to self: Next time DON'T volunteer to do tenders with the most items.

Why?: I've already proven before that I can single handedly handle it...so why can't others? Why must others always complain?

Moral of the story?: If there is a choice, choose tenders with the least items to work on.

?

Suddenly the interest to write has dwindled down tremendously. Even gym logs don't interest me much either. In fact gym sessions will be cut down this month. Raya holidays workout plan has also been cancelled off. Basically I just want to hide in a cave and hibernate.

Been receiving numerous unexpected sms-es from that someone since a week ago. I gave it my best shot but I realised I cannot be a friend. I will never make a good friend. I tried but it wasn't working.

My focus on the other someone has also came to a halt. I better not kid myself.

What else is left for me then? Bury myself in work? This past 2 weeks I find everything and everyone in the office very irritating, down to the boiling points. Many things are being thrown at me. I don't even know whether I should be proud that I'm being entrusted with these responsibilities OR I should get mad that some co-workers are getting away with what should be their fair share of work. Today I found out that one co-worker lied to me just to get out of his responsibility. Not once, but twice! Want to lie, learn to lie smart la! Then there's the constant unnecessary whinings and complaints in the office that are enuff to drive a sane human to jump down a building. How about a pregnant lady constantly vomitting phlegm in the dustbin every day? I'm not being insensitive but there is only that much vomitting sounds that I can take in a day.

What is wrong with October?

Lack of professionalism

Gym log.

Anyone who is a regular or has attended Body Combat will know or SHOULD know that it is not a real martial art class, or as one instructor puts it..."it's just pretend fights". Body Combat is a combination of several martial art movements incorporated into a cardio exercise. Therefore, it should not be a question of how high you can kick or how high you can jump. Instead members should concentrate on the proper techniques.

Yesterday's BCombat class was packed....more than usual. There was barely enough floor space in between members to do proper side kicks. In situations like this, members will have to compromise and make do with smaller or lower kicks. But that is not the case with a member in class yesterday...a member who is also a PT (Personal Trainer) from the gym. I was stunned (more like jaw dropped) to see this blardy "I think I'm macho" PT doing hard high kicks admist a crowded class...giving no consideration at all to the people around him, despite being tactfully "warned" by the instructor. Being a PT, he should know that safety comes first in any exercises....but noooo....this idiot was doing full fledge high front, side, and back kicks. Not only that....he was also taking up lots of floor space with his antics. The poor girl next to him had to stand still throughout most of the class for fear of being kicked or punched by this "I think I'm macho" PT....plus he took up her floor space that she barely could do anything. He was obviously aware of this but didn't give a hoot about it. What a selfish jerk!

He even gave her this stare like "you cannot follow the class ah"? OMG. Not sure if he himself has attended BCombat before but I can see that he looked lost and at times he was doing his own thing.

I am still in disbelief at what I had witnessed last nite. A personal trainer who shows no professionalism and obviously was clueless about safety.

Very unhappy about this.

For many years now I've been using auto insurance from Company A. With the exception of the first year, the remaining years I've not gotten any GOOD renewal free gifts from Company A. Didn't ask....so didn't get. When I did ask, I was given a pen (which I politely rejected...I've tons of that at home.). Then there was that year I was offered a battery-less torch light which was blardy hell useless. I have to manually press the trigger many many times just to get the light to come on. More like exercising my fingers. Another year I was given a mini booklet on Company A's auto services. Blardy useless!

So, for many years, I've been having thoughts of changing to different insurance company instead....since I've been hearing of people getting free bagpack, umbrellas, car shades, etc etc. Not fair la...people get good things, I don't get.

My renewal is due this month...today, in fact. When I inquired with Company A what free gift will be given, I was told it's a magazine. WTF! So, I finally make the decision to change my auto insurance to Company B instead. Got my cert + road tax this morning from the Company B's agent. What free gift did I get? A stupid AAM membership! Kanasai! Hey I'm already an AAM member la.

I'm not that "ingin" on the freebies la but if others are getting good usable things, not fair la if I don't get it. My colleague said it's cos my car is small so therefore the freebie given is also small. Kanasai! Small item I don't mind but don't la give me useless item.

So angry.

Blardy pissed!

Last week I was feeling 'broken'. Today, at this moment of writing, I am feeling extremely 'hot'. Hot, as in pissed off, angry, tension...

I have wasted one whole morning waiting for a meeting that never took place. Got a message this morning at 8.45am as I (and a colleague) were on our way to Damansara, telling us the supposedly 9.30am scheduled meeting has been postponed to 11am and will be held in KL Sentral instead. So, off we went to KL Sentral instead. To return all the way back to Cyberjaya would be insane. Since it was only 9.30am, we went for our breakfast at KL Sentral. Proceeded then to partner's office and waited for the 11am meeting. By 12noon, there were no still no sign of this "important" person who called for the meeting (no courtesy to inform he was gonna be late) nor the partner we were supposed to meet. We were later told this partner had to attend a management meeting. WTF! By then, steam were coming off my head.

This is not the first time, this "important" idiot postponed a meeting at the last minute. Last Thursday, I waited till 11am for a meeting that was supposed to take place at 9.30am. Blardy fool!

Mr. So Called Director aka Mr. Self-Centered High & Mighty...I have no respect for you! I drove all the way from Puchong-->Damansara-->KL Sentral-->Cyberjaya, waited almost 4 hours...and for what?? Somemore I had to go thru the early morning massive Sunway Toll jam. There are other parties involved in this meeting...don't just postpone last minute at your own whims and convenience. Blardy fool!

I am so in need of Body Combat today...it would be great to pretend I'm punching and kicking that somebody....unfortunately there is none in the schedule that fits my time.... bleh!
