Cuppycakes

Bought these very pretty cupcakes today during lunch. Priced at RM3.50 per piece. It was meant for my tea break but I was too busy with work that I had no time to eat them. Had them for dessert instead after dinner.

Nice but the frosting is a bit too sweet.........

What the heck are these?

Received these freebies when I ordered takeaway pizza few weeks ago.  I couldn't quite figure out what they are supposed to be.  Coaster? Hand fan?
I have no idea what to do with these except hang them somewhere :)

Sinful but what the hell.........

The craving was too intense.  I simply had to go get myself cupcakes today.  After finishing Pilates at the gym, I drove all the way to Uptown to a little cafe called Wondermilk.  Heard about this place years ago and had always wanted to try their cupcakes.

As soon as I entered the place, I was a little disappointed that their so called Maxi Cupcakes are kinda small.  Price is a little steep as well for that size at RM4.50 per piece.  I got myself a box of 4 for RM17.00...a savings of a miserable RM1...yeah!

I decided to get myself these......

Oh My Choc - This one caught my eye immediately!
Very Very Very Chocolate

Rocky Road - with gooey marshmallows on top.

Foxy Red Velvet - Heard about red velvet quite a bit before and decided to try this flavor.

Downing cupcakes with a glass of cold milk...yummy....a satisfying tea break. I must say though...the cupcakes were a little too sweet for my likings.  I am actually going against my "eat clean, eat healthy" regime but then again,  it's not like I'm eating these every day.  It will be awhile till I have my next cupcake.

Not bad for a day's work..

Today I finally sent my car to the car wash after sending it to the workshop for maintenance services, which costed me a bomb. Noticed the dark clouds outside as I was waiting for my turn at the car wash.  I never have good weather on my side whenever I had my car washed.  Based on common sense, I probably should turn around and go home but then, my car hasn't been washed for close to 3 months.  I had decided that today was the day my car would get healthy and most importantly, CLEAN! It didn't help that the car wash was lacking some workers and so I wasn't getting the usual quality of cleaning.

Anyway, upon reaching home I decided to do some additional cleaning and tidying of my car.  This turned out to be the best chore ever!....ahaks.  Not only was my car spic and span, I found cash in the glove compartment.  That's right, CASH..few hundreds!  I prolly had left that there a few months ago to avoid carrying too much cash on me, and had totally forgotten about it.  Now I don't feel that bad spending a bomb on my car maintenance earlier (not that it was unnecessary but still, it burnt a hole in my pocket).  With this new found fortune, I can pay off the credit card charge now, phew....

Awesome day indeed...

How's this for hilarious?

I got my home telephone line fixed, got the broadband fixed.  Found out from the technician that I was supposed to be given a free telephone when I registered for this.  Went to TMPoint this morning to collect that phone and also my free DECT (Digital Cordless Telephone) that comes with the broadband package.

So, now I got these....

Seriously...for someone who doesn't make a lot of calls, what am I gonna do with 2 phones?  I already have my cellphone.

Well rested my foot!

I gave myself a whole week off from gym and a whole weekend of no physical activity, except for an hour of much needed housekeeping, thinking that I can restore my body's energy and catch up on lost sleeps. I swear my body is feeling more lethargic, and I don't feel any different than I did last week or the weeks before.  I probably slept too much too over the weekend and don't even mention the amount of watching TV...and then, I woke up this morning with sinus and a headache.  How about that?  It's no wonder fitness freaks like to preach about the benefits of exercising...

Too much Pink....

I find this such a coincidence that it's almost freaky.  For the past couple of weeks, I've been listening and watching P!nk's concert videos on youtube repeatedly.  I knew that in Body Pump & Body Combat past releases, there were tracks from P!nk's albums, such as So What!, U & Ur Hand (in BC), It's All Your Fault, I'm Not Dead (in BP)..and maybe more...so I was jokingly thinking that one day perhaps I should request the instructors to play all available P!nk tracks in the class, right?. Of course, I was telling this to myself....

Last Wed and yesterday, indeed 2 P!nk tracks were played during Body Pump!  And not only that....the hit from 4Non Blondes "What's  Up?" were also played...and this was a song that P!nk performed during one of her tours few years ago.   How's that for weirdness, huh? It was pretty cool actually albeit edging on freakiness.

Now I wait and see if any of P!nk BC tracks will be played in upcoming Body Combat classes..and I guess I really should cut down listening to P!nk.

Tea break?

The last time I drank tea daily, I went thru 2 weeks of excruciating stomach upset and pain. I swore never to repeat this mistake but for the past few weeks, I have been drinking ice lemon tea quite frequently. I think it was partly due to the hot weather and partly because I was simply craving for caffeine, considering that I was off soda for quite awhile now.

I have a feeling that I am about to go thru another round of this unpleasant experience. I have been having slight stomach upset since last nite...the bloating, the discomfort, the cramps....resulting in the all too familiar sleepless nite and trips to the bathroom. And oh ya...I have just experienced a slight sharp pain few minutes ago.

I thought the first horrible incident was coincidence but now I really learn the hard way....

Is it that difficult to read instructions?

I remember back during school days when we were sitting for examinations, teachers were always reminding and advising students to read and understand the instructions on the exam papers.  I may not remember all the things that were taught in school but that piece of advice has stuck with me long after I left school.

An instruction need not be something that is on paper alone.  In our daily lives, we are dealt with countless instructions, whether in college, at work, at home, etc etc.  An instruction can tell guide you towards doing something the right way and it is important that one listens or reads instructions. Some people simply do not understand the importance of reading instructions or they just do not bother to read them.

I am dealing with one such subordinate at work and I find it extremely annoying, not to mention frustrating. Oral instructions given have to be reiterated many times.  Written instructions were not read or comprehended, resulting in work not done properly and me having to check this person's work.  I'm not dealing with a fresh grad or a junior level staff...this is someone who has several years of working experience and is paid senior level scale salary but yet make tons of mistakes each time and has to be constantly prompted to finish off a given task.  It is just pure hell dealing with this type of person but thank god, this person is leaving the company soon and the replacement is someone who is more reliable and more importantly, can understand instructions.  Can't wait..........

Mindless blabbing....

My thoughts seem to be everywhere and I can never gather them together enough to write a decent blog.  When I'm not ready to write, all thoughts and ideas come in a rush.  When I'm actually sitting down to write, my mind goes blank.  No difference today...so I thot I'll just jot down what comes to mind as I'm typing.

First of all, the office aircond airflow is insufficient to the point that I am ready to pass out daily.  No joke.  Highlighted the problem to the big boss but no conclusive action taken.  No worries boss, we'll just pass out quietly...

Isn't it frustrating when subordinates are not efficient in their work? I'm not talking about lack of creativity or not working smart.  It kills me when I have to constantly remind, monitor and check subordinates' work despite clear and simple instructions given. They will either not do it, take their own sweet time to finish the work, left the job half hanging or do it wrongly.  I'm vomitting blood dealing with this type of people.  Worse still, these people do not report to me but I have been asked to monitor & delegate work to them, otherwise I would have just fired them straightaway.  I am amazed at the lack of common sense around here

I watched Kelly Ripa appeared on Late Show With David Letterman last nite and damnit...her arms are ripped.  Needless to say, I was envious.  No amount of Body Pump sessions will ever get me those killer arms. If only I can have Jillian Michaels as my trainer....

I was very much distracted by a member in last nite's BP class.  She had her game face on the entire class, loading on heavy weights for every tracks.  I wasn't in the least bit impressed considering that she wasn't able to follow the timing and cue-ing of all the tracks, mainly because the weights were too heavy for her...it was that obvious.  Sigh.....some people just love to show off.

The Body Combat class went 10 tracks without rest last nite but I was hardly sweating much at all. I wasn't gasping for air even, like usual.  No thrills at all.  My sports bra wasn't even wet either.....

Caught a rerun of SYTYCD Season 2 finale last nite.  Favorite judge Mia Michaels was on....yeah! I hope there will be a rerun of Season 3 too cos I want to see more of Mia and her work.  Isn't it interesting that the 2 persons that I admire a lot (ie. Jillian Michaels, Mia Michaels) have the same last name.  I think it's so super cool..

OK, looks like the babbling train has come to a grounding halt.  No more thoughts coming out....

Falling off the wagon a little

In a perfect world scenario, I will be staying away from processed food, trans fatty food, sugary cravings, etc etc.  I will be drinking 8 glasses of water a day, consuming at least 1800 cals a day, going organic, bla bla bla.

2 months ago, I embarked on a healthy eating regimen, being mindful of the harmful ingredients in my food.....namely high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, hydrogenated oil,  white flours, high sodium, monosodium glutamate, nitrate, etc etc.  Grocery shopping took a lot longer these days and scanning the ingredient list of each item is not particularly fun but it is part & parcel of getting to know what is safe to eat and what is not.

As much as I have learned about healthy eating, practising it is totally different.  I stayed away from white bread but I'm still eating other refined carbs (white rice, white pastas).  It is very difficult to control this especially when eating out. However, I make it a point to eat brown rice/wild rice when at home, wholemeal bread and will be soon be changing to whole grain pastas too. I am very mindful of my sodium, sugar and fat intake.  In fact, a lot of my veggies preparation method initially WAS blanching and with the littlest bit of salt.....until I realise that this tasteless eating is no way to live. I have since returned to stir fry.....with minimum oil and salt, of course or using olive oil.

I have also shed myself clean of fast food, sodas, junk food and processed meat. Not sure how long I can keep this up but for now, it's looking good and I hope it will stay that way.  I don't think I will ever be able to stay from chocolates so I've been eating organic dark chocolates instead.

I did eat steam white bread yesterday when I was out with friends because it was the only item in the menu that was the least unhealthy. Needless to say, I did not enjoy myself and I don't think I will be returning to that cafe anytime soon.  AND....my willpower crashed a little when I reached for the Kit Kat chocs while I was out grocery shopping last week.  It was supposed to last me for a week but I finished the whole packet within a couple of days. Not the end of the world, of course, but it seems like what I had started out to do is slowly getting harder and harder to maintain.

Bear in mind though, that it is not the calories that I worry about.  It is the ingredients in the food that I am mindful of.  In a perfect world scenario, if all food are made of healthy ingredients, I will be eating like there is no tomorrow.

Mental block

How issit that I can speak the national language fluently with my co-workers on a daily basis and yet when I was being formally interviewed, I fumbled! I am a little upset but I am not going to beat myself over it. I just hope that my experience on paper pays off and I hope the universe responds to me.

Channeling it all onto my board

Sometimes I wonder why I'm letting situations surrounding me get the best of me and stressing me out. Every bit of distressing news get into my nerves these days, as much as I try not to think about it. I'm blocking out as much as I can and trying to live my life the best that is within my means. I hate people who kiss ass, people who manipulate the system for their own benefits, people who take undertable money, people who use others for their own agendas, people who has no regards for others feelings...in short, I hate assholes.

I can't help it if friendship fails or unfairness happen at work, etc etc. The best I can do is to walk away from all these troubles or at least keep a certain distance. Priority now is me, myself and I. For that, I am making myself a vision board. Now, I don't know if vision board is something that is believable or some psychology in-your-mind thingy but I'm willing to give it a try. No harm no foul. Keep believing and good things will happen or in other words, Law of Attraction.

Bitten by home decor bug

Recently I have made a painful decision to drop a certain class from my gym schedules. I'm not sure if this is a right decision or if it will be permanent, but at the moment, I believe it is best to step away. As such, I now have more idle time on my hand...to do what, I have no idea really. Prolly further stamp my mark as a couch potato.

So, I'm thinking, why not daydream about how I want my home to look like. There's nothing like fantasizing over IKEA catalogues and home decor mags. In fact, I even downloaded IKEA's home planning software, which btw, is great to play around with, but unfortunately, their software does not include all of their home items esp. sofas and lightings.

I would like my apt to have a homey feel, a place I come home to relax in. Despite many years passing, I still do not own a bedframe nor a wardrobe in my bedroom. I'm thinking maybe it's time I actually go get one. Scouting around for the right size furniture (since my room is so blardy small for a master bedroom), however, is really not my cuppa tea. I am clueless and I can't make decisions.

I'm also thinking with more time to kill, maybe repaint the grills and doors as well?? Something that I had been planning to do since 2 years ago but the lazy syndrome got the better of me. I don't know how it's gonna turn out this time but one thing is for sure, I'm in the home decorating mood.

This is a bitchiness alert.

It's been a long time since I consistently blog about gym. Truth is, there is nothing exciting happening these days. It's just the usual walk into gym, do classes, walk out of gym routine. Boring to the max!

Many favorite instructors have either left the gym or no longer teaching in this gym outlet. What used to be the days of "die die must go gym" now becomes "if free I go gym la". Boring to the max! Which brings on the question, why not just quit? Yes, the thoughts have arisen many times. Let's just say, I still have a few objectives to achieve and I will terminate my membership when the right time comes.

Regular familiar faces whom I was once comfortable with, well...sad to say, very hard to catch these people anymore. They either have left the gym or no longer come to the same class as me. Changes....the word that we all hate...OR at least, I hate. It's funny how things ie. feelings, sentiments, friendship, etc change when regular routines ran beyond 3 years. What once used to be excitement has now became......oh hell, I can't even come up with the right word to describe it. Anyway...

Just as with gym, life too loses its excitement, for me at least. Maybe I'm the type that gets bored easily or I'm just uber sensitive when things in life are not going my way. Speaking of which....sometimes I wonder if people are genuine in their friendships. Why does one goes from being super friendly today to being distance the next day...everytime? I just don't get it. Is this what is called "fake friendship"? I for one values friendship. If someone were to text me, buzz me on chats or leave me messages on FB, I reply. Simple as that. I don't ignore. If I don't do it immediately, I will do it when time permits me to. Seriously, c'mon, no one is THAT busy 24x7, 365 days..UNLESS you are of no value to that person OR that person doesn't think of you highly enough to bother replying. If that is the case, then next time please do not be friendly to me so that I will not bother you ever.

Sigh...middle of the week and I'm already so full of bitchy rants.

Young at heart ok...

There's no particular topic of interest in this entry really. I'm still in the office past Sunday midnite and I've finished my work portion but I'm waiting for my colleagues to finish theirs so that we can leave the office together-gether. So, while waiting, I'm doing a little blogging....cos there's really not much to do in FB already anyway.

A gym friend today commented that scars cannot be rid of, after I told her why I had been missing from gym for 2 weeks. Hearing what she said sent chills up my spine...so I told her not to scare me la. I now have all sorts of creams/gels in my first aid kit...aloe gel, vit e serum, gamat gel and the newly bought mederma gel, which stinks btw. I just hope one of those can heal my scar. Every time someone tells me this or that cream is good, I rushed out to buy it. I am seriously running out of work pants and long skirts. Plus it sucks not being able to wear shorts to the gym...huhu.

Today while out having yumcha with an instructor, a gym friend whom I have just got to know a week ago, commented that I am older than the instructor , which I tell you, really struck a dagger into my heart. I am so used to people telling me I look like a kid (comments which I used to hate in the past) but now I'm wondering if I'm aging that much :(. And anyway, how the hell does she know that I am older than the instructor?? (actually I am la...but then again...shit! that comment sucks)...huhu. Ok ok...enuff of self misery..gonna look at the bright side (whatever that may be).

Lazy to write much so....signing off.

Good to be back?

It's been a long while since I last blog. Too late to wish anyone Merry Christmas, Happy New Year or Gong Xi Fa Cai. Been very occupied with playing Pet Society on facebook and it's really taking up a huge chunk of my time. Maybe the more appropriate words should be "wasting my time", and I really need to stop doing that. A lot of things happened since I last blog but I'm too lazy to list them all.
I got burned by motorbike exhaust pipe 5 days ago as I was walking too close to a bike. This has left a burnt mark the size of an egg, more or less. My medication rounds include dosages of vitamin E serum, gamat gel, aloe vera gel, not to mention the endless changing of bandages. The wound isn't getting any better and frankly speaking, I am starting to worried, esp. on potential scarring.

5 day old wound. I'm more worried abt the surrounding redness than the blister itself.

On a different note, I felt really stupid caring about someone and going all the way out to help this person but in return, I did not get a single "how are you, how is your leg?" greetings when we met up. It makes me wonder why I bother trying to care. Silly of me, really. At the very least, ask. That is what friends are for, especially friends who see each other every week. This tells me that I was never in this person's mind to begin with. Anyway....moving on. A good cry always helps.

"Live Your Life~ Don't Take Things Too Lightly!" Very impressive statement coming from a 12 year old. It makes me of think of my current state of mind. I have been so busy being conscious of other people around me that IAdd Image have lost sight of the most important person in my life....ME. Seriously, ya, sure we all have friends and family who "care" about us but really, at the end of the day, will they be there 24x7 for us? It is time to start taking good care of ourselves.

This isn't what I had in mind to re-start my blog but I just need to vent some frustrations out. There have been a lot of built-up frustrations these past few months esp. from work, but I hope to see more positive outcomes overall in life. Working on it.........

At the moment

Playing MindJolt on FB is really addictive. Playing Twibik on MindJolt is particularly soothing, not so much because of the game but more of the background music. It can really put one to sleep. Exactly what I need....

Doing foot reflexology (or any type of massage) is really addictive. I find myself itching to get the next one already....and I just went 5 days ago...ahaks!

Attending Body Attack can be addictive. Tried this program out for the first time a week ago and I returned today for my 2nd class. As nice as it is, I don't think it's something I will be doing on a regular basis since it is too much of a calorie burner. For now though, I'm addicted to it.

How come doing housework isn't addictive??

The ban on yoga

I think that this ruling is ridiculous and I pity all those muslims who practice or teach yoga, either part time or as a profession. If I am a muslim, I would be extremely disappointed and pissed. However, since I am not, this ruling has no affect on me. As tempted as I am to join in to condemn this ruling, I realise that it is not for the me, a non muslim, to be so busybody in this matter. It will surely inadvertently lead to commenting on one's religion.
